Howdo everyone...
First report of the year, and hopefully a good omen for the rest of 2012. Kicking off as usual with the match report from the last Irish Club gig.
LAST GIG – 7th JANUARY 2012
Bang! Off to a flying start I'm pleased to report. January never fails to deliver and this time we had 8 UK visitors on top of the 84 regulars to make this one special. The UK lot didn't waste any time, they were up and spinning well before 9 o' clock and this seemed to encourage the rest of the crowd to put their pints and wine glasses down and work the floor. Great to hear loads of old favourites alongside stuff not heard for years and a several first time Irish Club spins. Saturday 21st January - "Soul for Connoisseurs" is Tony & Sue's new Northern Soul night at the Civic Hotel in Inglewood. This is the opening night featuring Tony, Sue, Denny, Barry & guest Rockin Ronnie.
Friday 27th January - Robbie and Larraine present "Sound of Soul" at the Woodvale Reception Centre featuring across the board sounds of Motown, Northern Soul, Modern Soul, 70s Disco, Atlantic, Stax & Philly.
